Black Friday Tour features 3 new breweries, rare flight

St. Joseph plays host to beer alternative to busy shopping day

This collaborative holiday brewery tour will give guests the opportunity to samples one of the world’s most acclaimed stouts, visit a trio of new West Michigan breweries and later explore downtown St. Joseph, Mich.

The Black Friday Brewery Tour, sponsored by St. Joseph Today, will be held on Friday, Nov. 27 with official registration occurring at the Buck Burgers & Brew in downtown St. Joseph where guests will sample a flight of several variants of Goose Island’s Bourbon County, the imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels.

The gold medal winner at the 2006 World Beer is one of the most in-demand beers in the Midwest. Each year, Goose Island releases Bourbon County and a few variations on the stout.

Guests will have the opportunity to visit three of the lakeshore region’s newest breweries including Tapistry Brewing Co., Cultivate Brewing Co., which opened in July, and Arclight Brewing Co.

Tour participants will receive either samples or a pint at each stop and the opportunity to meet with the staff and tour the facilities. Tickets start at $59.

The Hilton Garden Inn is offering a special rate for guests of the tour and is conveniently located of I-94 at exit 29.

Itinerary

Optional pickup for hotel guests: Hilton Garden Inn, St. Joseph, 10:30 a.m. Origination/registration: Buck Burgers & Brew, Goose Island Bourbon County flight, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Stop 1: Tapistry Brewing Co., samples and meet-and-greet, 1-2 p.m. Stop 2: Cultivate Brewing Co., samples and tour, 2:20-3:20 p.m. Stop 3: Arclight Brewing Co., samples and tour, 4-5 p.m. Termination:Buck Burgers & Brew, 5:30 p.m.
