West Michigan Home & Garden Show Features Cooking with Local, Seasonal Produce!

This year, attendees at the West Michigan Home & Garden Show will be treated to an emphasis on seasonal, local produce.

In addition to a special exhibit, “Cultivating Change: A Showcase of Local Food Organizations,” there will be several cooking workshops.

Chef Angus Campbell of the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education at GRCC will be demonstrating seasonal recipes at the The Standard Kitchens Cooking Stage.

“As a chef I’m always trying to find the best ingredients for a dish, and when it comes to produce the best nearly always means the freshest,” said Campbell. “Visiting your local farm market to buy what’s in season, or going out to your own garden and picking what’s ripe is a fantastic way to use the very best ingredients in your cooking.”
