Food prices are on the rise. For most of us in the United States that means we can buy fewer luxuries. For the poor in Kent County it is a problem. For the poor in other parts of the world it is a catastrophe. Events like the Access/Grace Hunger Walk can help to offset the devastation that higher food prices are causing. Here’s how you can get involved:
Walk:
It’s not too late to sign up to be a walker. The walk itself is Saturday, May 7, 2011. Check in starts at 8 AM. Sign up at the Access website.
Give:
I realize that not everyone wants to get up early on a Saturday morning. That’s OK. Please consider donating online. I’m challenging my Eat Local, West Michigan! readers to raise at least $100. Click below to give. The hungry people in West Michigan thank you.

Are you going to the Rapid Growth panel tomorrow night? I’ll be there and I think Big Binder plans to go, too.
@Jolon @ Savvy Chic Savings, no, I’ll be in Toronto for work 🙁
Oh yeah, that’s right. Sorry I think I’ve asked you that like 6 times. Can’t keep it all straight 😉
@Jolon @ Savvy Chic Savings, don’t worry, I have trouble keeping my schedule straight myself!
