Because of the growing conditions, many local blueberry farms no longer have blueberries available this season. If you are lucky enough to find them, perhaps at a farmer’s market, be sure to freeze them for winter use.
Blueberries are super easy to freeze – simply rinse, dry, freeze on a tray, then put in freezer bags. Great for smoothies, baked goods, or even as a snack!
If you’ve missed out, you can still find locally grown dried blueberries.
The Berry Bunch (frozen also available)
Bowerman Blueberries (frozen also available)
Crossroads Blueberry Market (fresh still available)
DeGrandchamp’s Blueberry Farm (fresh still available)
Nourish Organic Market will have frozen Organic blueberries all year around from Pleasant Hill Farm in Fennville.
Any other local sources? Let me know and I’ll update the listing!
