Father’s Day Weekend Ideas

In case you’re looking for last-minute inspiration, here are some great things going on in West Michigan:

Head over to the National Strawberry Festival in Belleville, where the fun lasts all weekend.

Go wine tasting on Saturday at the 6th Annual Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival. Take Dad along or pick him up one of his favorite bottles.

A bit closer to home, Taste of Muskegon runs Saturday and Sunday. The fifth annual Taste of Muskegon looks to continue to bring the best food Muskegon has to offer together in one place.  The Food Expo stage will be back as well as the Taste Garden, serving craft Michigan beer and wine samples for $1.

On Sunday, you can take Dad to the Free Father’s Day Event at the Kroc Center. (Note that while the entertainment is free, you’ll need to pack along your own lunch or buy a $3.50 hot dog lunch on site).

If your tastes are bit more along the fine beer route, check out the Father’s Day Pig Roast & Cookout at Brewery Vivant (also on Sunday).

And some local gift ideas:

Gift certificate to one of the grilling classes at the Real Cool Cooking School.

Meat (or gift certificate) from Creswick Farms.

Local First coupon book.
